AIC seeks to connect the diverse Muslim communities living throughout the United States, including communities with heritage from South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Europe, Latin America, and other regions, together with African American Muslims, converts, and generations of U.S.-born Muslims.

The Caucus will encourage cooperation beyond ethnic, national, cultural, linguistic, and organizational boundaries.

American Muslims maintain strong family, cultural, educational, professional, and economic connections with communities around the world.

AIC seeks to develop these connections into constructive networks for:

• Academic and scientific cooperation;
• Technology and innovation;
• Business and entrepreneurship;
• Investment and economic development;
• Cultural exchange;
• Humanitarian cooperation;
• Youth and professional development;

Peacebuilding and international dialogue.

AIC will serve as a bridge between American Muslim communities and Muslim diaspora communities worldwide.

AIC believes that sustainable peace requires understanding, communication, education, diplomacy, and cooperation.

The Caucus will promote dialogue among Muslims and people of other faiths, cultures, nationalities, and backgrounds.

It supports peaceful solutions to conflicts and rejects violence, terrorism, hatred, and discrimination.

Dialogue Before Division • Cooperation Before Confrontation

Although AIC focuses on American Muslim and Muslim diaspora communities, it welcomes constructive cooperation with people and institutions of all faiths and backgrounds.

The Caucus will promote dialogue and joint initiatives involving Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, other faith communities, and secular civil society.

The goal is not to eliminate differences, but to build mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation.
